[RESULTS UP!!!] ASSIGNMENT 7 ~Power of the Goddess~

Elasticgirl COMMENTS: I really like this photo. I think it’s very simple and I love the little write up you included. But there were a few things about it that I didn’t like. I don’t understand, some weeks you come out and give us something that blows all the socks off everyone’s feet and then the next week you create something very mediocre. Well anyway, here’s the thing. Number one, I don’t like her hair. There are way too many loose strands and it all looks like a huge discombobulated mess. I also don’t like how there is no texture or shadows to her hair and it’s very flat. Secondly, she does not look high fashion at all and her eyes seem very vacant. I think it would be better if they were focusing on the camera. Thirdly, her dress is a little awkward. And idk if you were trying to portray her as being a little pregnant (since she is the mother of earth and all mankind) but it just looks really awkward and rather looks like her dress is puffing out around her from the wind. So overall, it’s pleasant to look at but I am in no way amazed by this photo like I was for the previous assignment.

Nicolla’s Comments: At first sight. I thought you were going to be eliminated. Then I read your description and decided that I was most definitely wrong. I love what you did here! And I've been waiting for you to play off Jasmine's look and I finally feel you've done it! Most weeks we couldn't see Jasmine in your photos but I feel like this week you used her innocence to your ability! It was very fashionable! And I thought you were very creative! My complaints are that her face looked a little blank ;_; And I wished she was looking at the planet. This leads to my second complaint. The planet doesn't look like Earth. I feel like the qualities through the dress, upper arm bracelet and Jasmine weren't working together. And the hair drawing looked a little weird but I feel like you've improved so much through this competition!

Brook’s Comments: I like the shape of your hair drawing and the flowy bits make her look quite graceful but it kinda goes over her forehead a bit much and the right hand side looks rushed compared to the rest. I also don’t really like what she wearing the dress looks like a piece of cloth, it’s very frumpy and doesn’t scream out high fashion and looks very edited on, but I do like your choice of makeup, it’s very natural apart from that awful shiny nose you have given her, it ruins the graceful looks and makes her look like she has a raging cold but her expression is very pretty, but a little too plain and boring.
The planet in her hands looks nothing like earth; I wouldn’t have known what planet it was if it hadn’t been written in the description you have given us.

Elasticgirl COMMENTS: HOLY WOW. I DON’T HAVE ANY COMMENTS FOR THIS PHOTO—IT SERIOUSLY LEFT ME SPEECHLESS! I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT….except I do think the necklaces under her breasts could’ve been edited in better and a little sharper. But other than that, you frickin blew me away. BEST PHOTO YET!!! Love the high fashion, the skirt, the lovers in the background, the setting, the fog and mist and ocean and the colors and the dullness and your model and EVERYTHING!!!!!!! WOW. YOU FRICKIN NAILED IT (I think )

Nicolla’s Comments: By far your best photo. Pretty much everything was perfect except for the fact that I don't see your god in Charlie!!!!!!!!!!! I see Charlie looking awesome and fierce and people having sex and three ways in the background but it doesn't work with Charlie! Where is Charlie in love or showing the emotion of making people fall in love??? But that was my only complaint! Oh and also that her head looks a bit huge for my liking. I love you utilizing Charlie's curves an her body, I love the clothes edited in. And got a laugh out of the 3 way! Good job!

Brook’s Comments: This is gorgeous! I really love how you have shown the dark side of Aphrodite’s beauty by using dark colours, also the use of the couples in the background give it a sexual feel to it and really shows what Goddess Charlie is portraying. But the thing that disappoints me about your image is Charlie’s blank expression! She’s need a bit of life in her face; it just makes her look a little boring to be honest, and is that weird blurred shape part of the necklace she’s wearing? I really can’t make out what it is it kind of looks like a big hand mark, but other than that the simple accessories link the whole outfit together and I must say I absolutely love the skirt she is wearing! Yes it’s a big messy but I feel it shows how chaotic and kind of messed up her life was and that it wasn’t as perfect as most thought but I really, really despise that hair it makes her look like she has a really long head O_O. But overall I'm impressed on how you have portrayed Aphrodite.

Elasticgirl COMMENTS: I think this is a pleasant photo overall. I really like your model and the setting and the dress and colors. But there are a lot of things here that I think can be improved on. I don’t really like the braid thing on her head because I just feel it is a little awkward. I also think her pose is awkward because the dress doesn’t seem that natural when her body is contorted the way it is. I also think the pale vine stuff on her legs and arms are a little weird and you don’t need them to make this photo awesome. And lastly, I don’t like the wheat bouquet resting on her arm. It’s a little awkward and has that golden yellow glow around it which really just makes it look like you copy and pasted. So again, overall this is a nice photo but when you inspect it more you realize these little things sticking out that just nag at me.

Nicolla’s Comments: I thought you might be in the bottom of the pack this week but I was very happy to see you do well! I love the dress you used especially because you wouldn't think of using that dress normally! I love the emotion in Kea's face! You stayed very on topic except for the random picture in back, you didn't need the picture of your goddess Kea looked amazing! I loved the leaves but I feel like you sort of just plopped her on a background and didn't do much...but it still works. The picture looked weird with the background though because of the different contests. Otherwise, job well done!

Brook’s Comments: Well I understand that Demeter is exactly the easiest Goddess to portray but I did have a hard time trying to see what part of Kea actually shows the Goddess she is portraying, to be honest I thought that the wheat under her arm was a trophy... it looks really out of place and is waaaaaayyy to bright in contrast with everything else in your assignment. I'm not a big fan of the background either, Kea doesn’t look right in it, she doesn’t blend in you can tell she have been cropped and just pasted in there without any shadowing or anything plus the shadow I can see behind her head shouldn’t be there.
Now on to the positive points, her dress is very high fashion, I just don’t like the colours you have chosen, and also the little tattoos on her arms and legs are quite pretty and kind of links with the whole image.

Elasticgirl COMMENTS: Okay. Umm I am a tad bit disappointed in you. First let me start with the not-so-good things. One, the moon looks very unrealistic and more like a lightbulb. Second, the arrow and bow are disproportionate to her body and just look like they were placed behind her, floating in space. Third, I don’t like the hair drawing. Yes, it is better than some of your others but no, it doesn’t fit. I don’t like the wisps at the end of her hair—they are a tad bit awkward and again, don’t look like hair. Instead, they look like linesdrawn by a pencil. I know it’s harsh but I don’t know how else to describe it. I would suggest trying no hair drawings. Remember, the last time you didn’t hair draw you scored amazingly! Now the things I like, I love your model’s expression and how she looks off into the distance that way. I think she definitely looks regal. But like I said, there are more things about it that I can criticize than say I like. Not good, please pick yourself up Bubbles, you have just so much potential.

Nicolla’s Comments: I don't know why but I was expecting a bit more from you. I feel like Dana's expression fit, but that's it, oh and the bow and moon looked awesome and I instantly could tell who your goddess was! But my biggest complaint is! Where is the rest of Artemis! She is also goddess of the dead animals and mythical creatures! She is the goddess of the hunt! Where are all her wolves?? You could've used spirits and animals! The quality of her boobs are a bit weird as they are shining? I'm also not the biggest fan of the hair drawing. It looks extremely grainy and weird. The black on the bottom doesn't work and one part of her hair is flying out and is huge and that was a bit confusing! I know your capable of so so so much more!

Brook’s Comments: As usual your hair drawing is gorgeous except that it always just ends perfectly straight or curved it just doesn’t look natural but that is the only thing bad about it. Well the constellation you spoke about well I can’t find it which is a little bit awkward... also that tear on Dana’s face looks very fake, there are plenty of tear makeup downloads around, it would’ve been better with one of those. But her expression is perfect and really fits her back story and the pain she endured with her brothers betrayal, the bow and arrow behind her is barely seen but you can tell what it is, I would’ve liked if you could see more of it, which also goes with her outfit, I would’ve liked to see more of it.

Elasticgirl COMMENTS: I like this overall. I really like the feel I get from this photo—the atmosphere is very inviting and warm. I like the pose and the background and the fire. Your model is just stunning. BUT the few things I don’t like: I don’t like how her dress is rather blurry (the pattern) as well as the background. I think the background would’ve been much better unblurred because the thing is, the main power of Hestia is the hearth and fire—home. So by blurring the background, I think it detaches the viewer from the home-y feeling that Hestia is associated with and instead turns your attention to the model only. The only other thing I don’t like is your hair drawing—NOT a good choice!!! I hate how much forehead you see and how the hair is very flat on her right side. I also don’t like the loose strand on her left side and the wisps which I feel like you just used the smudge tool to brush out. I just really don’t like it but I don’t know how to describe it (: But I think you get my point

Nicolla’s Comments: To me, this could be my least favorite picture of yours. Unfortunately. I'm not trying to be mean at all but I just want to explain how to make this a little better I saw the pattern on her dress and it don't quite look like something they would where. The sandals and arm bracelet look awesome though! Imogen's expression could've been stronger an less flirty. I'm not sure I would see your goddess in this. I see her holding a pot of fire, but you couldn't done so much with fire, and you just plopped a picture in. The quality in her dress was off because of the pattern and Imogen's quality looks different from the background. And I think you can do so much better!!

Brook’s Comments: This definitely isn’t your best as you said, I know you can do much better than this and so do you! It’s sad how my highest score for you is an 8 when you deserve so much higher, your work this week just didn’t impress me. The only thing that links Imogen to Hestia is the bowl of fire in her hands which I must say is a very obvious cropping and pasting job; what baffles me is why her dress has pretty blue flowers over it but she’s the Goddess of fire? O_O
Her expression should be fierce! Not all seductive and boring, but she does look very confident in herself with the way she is standing I would’ve loved to see more accessories than just the snake bracelet. But I do love the background, the way you have put together an in game background it looks very ancient looking but she kind of looks taller than the column behind her? It may be the angel but it just looks very weird.
