[RESULTS UP!!!] ASSIGNMENT 9 ~The Other One~

Elasticgirl Comments: I really really like this photo. I love the hair and the perfume bottle—it’s so subtle and really relaxing for the eye to look at. It’s also pretty attractive and very simple. I like the pose and I love the soft colors in the background in addition to the reflection in the water. But I do not like what your model is wearing. Honestly, it looks like she is wearing grandma style undies that aren’t too attractive. If this were on the real market, I don’t think teens and young adults would be too attracted to that Also the bra/bathingsuit top is a little awkward I think. If this is the summer breeze perfume, you need a beautiful shiny, subtle bathing suit that accentuates her curves and her youth and still shows her inner beauty and pureness (if that’s also why what she’s wearing is white ). so overall those are the things I do not like that much. Also, I love your slogan, logo, and Imogen’s signature. It’s the perfect touch!

Nicolla’s Comments: I think this is one of you best photos of the competition. Plan and simple. I was blown away. I loved the sunset, the beach, it all came together. It looks like it would be a real fragrance add. The shadowing was amazing. And the hair
Was too. The only think is, that the bathing suit is plain white, but eh, there's not much you can do about that. Also I don't feel as the creativity was completely there...It was nice and plain, but you could've used filters and added pearls or shear cloth to the bathing suit to lived it up a bit. Other wise I loved it!

Elasticgirl Comments: I absolutely love this photo! I love the high fashion you brought into this photo. I love the setting, the dress, the bottle, the “liquid magic” as I like to call it coming out of the bottle. It’s just so perfect this photo. I love the different quality of the photo as you look underwater compared to ontop. Your model is gorgeous, I love the slogan, but the only thing I find confusing is, what is the name of the perfume? Is it “Aquatic”? or is Aquatic part of your slogan? I couldn’t really decipher that part, especially since the word doesn’t really pop compared to the words in your slogan above it. Also, as much as I love your model’s pose, her right shoulder is a little awkward since it looks disjointed in its socket and very unnatural. I like your model’s face but the shadows on her face aren’t that good. Her eyes have that dark, omniscient/blurry look to them which definitely is not attractive, even though her eyes are wide open! Also if there were more highlights that were a little more blurred and subtle on her face it would look perfect! Great job!!

Nicolla’s Comments: There were some very good points and some not so good points in this photo. I'll start with the good. This was extremely creative. The model in the water, the boat, the setting, and putting 2 background together! It was great! The quality was also very good except for that the branches in the upper left were very hard to see and they look wayyyy blurry. I wasn't very keen on the look. It was very gloomy and I just felt very depressed looking at your photo. Jasmine's face...YOUR KILLING, almost literally. Please. Do something exciting with it. She had blank, and fake smile, and I would like something more modelesque from her! Also at first look it looked like a romantic movie/mystery/Harry Potter/water nymph movie. I wouldn't have thought it to be a perfume ad if it weren't for the perfume, but I like the water flowing out of the perfume. I didn't like the hair, or the fact that she was wearing high heals. I would've like to have seen her barefoot. And in sheer clothing like those pomagranet commercials. Overall, I can tell you put enough effort to make this shot pretty good, but it just didn't work out, I hope you aren't eliminated this week, because we've seen you on a roller coaster of up and downs through this competition and in the last couple assignments you've really been pushing through your typical effort and putting in more effort to keep up with the competition.

Elasticgirl Comments: I honestly don’t know what to say. This was my favorite by far! I love how you really took the perfume idea out of the box. I love the pose and the eyebrow sexily arched upward as if she’s luring the viewer into Eden, into her heart, and into the painting . I love the rich colors, the simplicity of your model’s look, and I love how the bottle is on the outside of the frame but also the way your model holds it. Oh and did I say already that I love the color theme? It’s perfect and soooooo attractive. I like the bottle a lot but the only suggestion I can give is to add a shadow around the bottle that’s outside the frame. Also, the only thing I don’t like about the photo is the word “Dare!” If only you made it 3D and not black so we could see it better you would get a perfect score! P.s. I would buy your perfume…not only does the ad look excellent, it sounds like it smells superb!

Nicolla’s Comments: Wow! I feel like we're getting such great work from everyone...and then I look at yours and I'm thinking...this isn't that great...It's pretty friking amazing! I love this shot! You followed assignment rules while going above and beyond and there's 2 things I would improve. Her expression is sort of "dear in the headlights" with a smile, I would've liked more smoldering eyes. And I feel ass though the setting could have a more HF vibe to it...otherwise, this pretty awesome! I feel like you are worthy of the title Sim Essence Next Top Model with the photos you presented us this round. This looks like a winners picture's.

Elasticgirl Comments: I am a little disappointed in you. Although this is a very beautiful image and I think you did a great job executing it, it doesn’t show any creativity and is really generic. If you look in any fashion magazines, this is the type of ad you will see. I don’t get to see your amazing talent in this photo. Also the bottle just looks like you copy and pasted it onto the photo, it would be so much nicer if you could make the bottle more 3D. also, the slogan on the photo kind of merges with the male’s skin tone and it doesn’t stand out that well. I like your model’s makeup but her lips look a little too bright and unrealistic as does her hair. I love that hair in game but I think if you dodged where there would be highlights it would look so much more superb. So overall, not your best work.

Nicolla’s Comments: Dana...not many good things I can say about I this photo. I don't see the HF in this. Her expression looks like she's about to fall asleep. The quality of her nose and face were different and the mans arms looked very smudged around the edges. I wouldn't see this as as a perfume ad. Thank go for your nude photo. It was gorgeous, and it could be your saving grace, because I hate to say this, but this is one of my least favorite photos of yours this entire cycle. I do like that you went a different direction and stayed on topic though!

Elasticgirl Comments: I love the simplicity in this photo! I love the pose, the subtle shadows, the softness of your model’s skin. It’s really perfect. The only thing I don’t like is the bottom of her foot, her hair, and her face. the bottom of the foot looks very fake and could use some tweaking. I don’t like the hair because it falls a little awkwardly over and off her shoulder and the bangs are wayyyyy toooo short!!!! They should be longer! The reason I don’t like her facial expression is because I don’t like how she is goofily smiling away from the camera. Which also makes me realize, that I don’t like her right eye and how it glows but the rest of the right side of her face is completely black. I wish her eye didn’t glow that much since it’s a little freaky Other than that, awesome job!

Nicolla’s Comments: This wasn't as good as your perfume shoot but still I see your improvement. It was very HF and you related to the assignment very well. I loved Imogen's expression but I zoomed in to her eyes and saw that they weren't looking at the camera. This takes away such a fierce vibe. The quality was pretty good except for closer to the hip area, it was over smudged/blurred. I like the overall appearance and shadows but I feel like you could've added some tattoos to make something more interesting! Jasmine's face was so cool and Whimsical, Kea added a chair, Dana gave a cut off shirt, and you didn't quite go the extra mile.

Elasticgirl Comments: I am not too thrilled with this photo. You included a lot of jewelry, which is most definitely NOT simple in addition to those heels. You do not need any of that to make a beautiful simple photo. Also those shoes make her ankles look really awkward, not normal. i don’t like her facial expression. The pinkie on the hand touching her face it also disappearing into her face, which makes it a little more unrealistic. I don’t like how her mouth is that wide open and I wish her eyes were looking at the camera. So, this photo isn’t as good as your part A photo.

Nicolla’s Comments: YYYYYAAAAAAYYYYYY! Finally, I've been waiting 4 months for this 1 photo! Jasmine looks like a professional model! Finally! Her face looks interesting and fierce and I could see this face on the cover of vogue Italia! i-D! Bazaar! This looks great...well the face...and that's my concern. As soon as you fix your biggest problem a couple other fixable details come up. The hair doesn't really work with Jamine. I like how you added shoes and jewelry but all together she looks like a naked hooker. You could've added some crazy high fashion stuff but with the stuff you added, I felt a "rich hooker" vibe. Also Jasmine was very smudged out all over her body, so I'd work on that, and even though this definitely isn't the highest score I've given you point wise, it is easily one of my favorite pictures of yours. For me your paint shot, was your best, but this is a close second, and could make my top 10 photos from this cycle!

Elasticgirl Comments: I love this photo! I love everything in it from the simplicity in the chair, to your model’s expression and her pose and the shoes! The shoes were an excellent touch now, the only things I don’t like: your model’s upper body is too white and should be more burned to accentuate the shadows around her breasts and her collar bones. Now, what I seriously don’t like in this photo is the bottom half of her body. The shadows are absolutely horrible and look like you drew them in with a tiny brush and then tried to blur them but not enough. the part of her left leg that is going over the right leg is not a dark shadow, it’s grey, and doesn’t really show any realistic form and highlights and shadows. In addition, you could’ve smoothed the hard lines around her right kneecap where it comes out from under her left leg. And also, because her leg and bum are the grayish, it looks so badly edited in to the chair. It needs to match the darkness of the couch at least to make the lines less choppy.

Nicolla’s Comments: I give you a huge round of applause. You are the first person I have given a perfect 70/70 for a photo. You have the 1st perfect score from me, and probably from the other 2 haven't given anyone a perfect 70 which means you have the first perfect photo of the cycle. I have no criticisms of this photo. I wouldn't be afraid to put this on the cover of SimEssence magazine right now. This is stellar, stunning, fierce, spectacular, and brilliant. Love the hair, the pose, expression, quality, the pose, and the sex appeal. This could be in the top 2 of my favorite pictures ever submitted to this competition.

Elasticgirl Comments: I love this!! I love the highlights on her skin, the way you desaturated this photo and didn’t just make it black and white, and the subtle shadows. I think you could’ve dodged the hair a little more to show more dimension. Also, I like the cloth where it is and how it looks but I think it is just a tad bit awkward. It maybe it were bigger or had left shadows against her body lightly it would look much better. So other than that, I really don’t have any other comments. Awesome job!

Nicolla’s Comments: Yayyyyyyyyyyyyy! This is my favorite photo of yours from all cycle! The shadowing is gorgeous. I love the hair! I love the shirt/rag, the quality is awesome and so is her perfection. Your only 1 point off of a perfect score because of her appearance. Her feet Angeles diagonally which makes it
Look like she's tip over and she's about to smash to the ground. This could be in my top 10 photos with this cycle along with Kea's nude photo, and Jasmine's nude photo, all 3 of you produced winning material for this assignment, and I'd hand you the crown of SNTM for this photo. High fashion might not be totally up your alley but you damn well have sooooo much talent in sooooo many other spectrums.
